The Oriental School focuses on six aspects of learning that provide a comprehensive framework for a child’s development:
The quality of education greatly influences a child’s personality and ultimately, future successes. Teachers at The Oriental School facilitate the students through Inquiry based learning, Flipped classroom, Meta cognition, frequent check on effective learning, cross-curricular teaching and computer literacy.
The stimulating inquiry based curriculum supports and challenges the individual child to push his boundaries and to experiment with his own understanding. Only when a child feels secure in his environment and develops a trusting relation with the adults, is he able to initiate activities and enjoy his own achievements. In this nurturing climate of encouragement, children develop an appreciation of the qualities of self- discipline, perseverance and hard work.
We view the child as being an active constructor of knowledge, rather than a target of instruction and mere recipient of information. Much of the instruction at The Oriental School will take place in the form of projects where they have opportunities to explore, observe, hypothesize, question and discuss to clarify their understanding. Collaboration in projects lays the basis for teamwork later in life.
