BUS RULES
The school has a large fleet of buses that are managed by our transport department. The buses are safe, secure and reliable and we take all precautions to ensure that the students who opt for this facility do not face any problem. To ensure professional services, all students are expected to adhere to certain guidelines. Parents are requested to help us in teaching responsible behaviour to the children.
Ensuring Your Well-being
Bus passes are issued to all students at the beginning of the session. Do make certain that recent photographs are pasted and the personal information given to school is correct. Parents/guardians are responsible for informing the school office about any error, discrepancy or change. For security reasons, parents will also be issued passes that will have to be shown to the bus attendant while picking up the child.
Bus Driver is the Nominated Authority
As prescribed by law, all the buses have an attendant to keep watch over the students. The drivers are qualified and their licenses checked periodically. The driver has a tremendous responsibility to ensure that all charges reach their destinations, safe and sound. Cooperation with the bus driver is expected at all times. He has the authority to pull up students who misbehave or do not comply with safe travel norms. The bus driver is authorised to stop the bus only at the designated bus stops.
Code of Conduct
Students are expected to queue up and board the buses in an orderly manner. All students are to remain seated while the bus is in motion. Seniors are expected to pass on seats to younger children and use the handrail in case they have to stand. Footboard travel will not be condoned. Please do not extend any body part out of the bus. Bags are to be stored in overhead shelves or placed under the seats.
Vigilance in the Bus
As a safeguard, the schoolteachers travel in the buses with the students. They keep a check on student behaviour and the attitude of the bus driver and attendant. It will be appreciated if the parents are responsible and vigilant observers. You are requested to report any matter of misconduct to the school authorities. The school seriously looks into all complaints lodged by parents and guardians.
First-Aid
All buses have the required first-aid box and fire extinguishers to handle small accidents. School drivers have been provided with mobile phones and parents may communicate with them if buses are late in reaching the bus stops.
School transportation is a convenience extended to the parents. The school tries to ensure complete safety of the students. However, we will not be able to provide good quality services without the support of the parents/guardians. Although bus rules are written and codified, there are many unwritten rules. These mainly concern student behaviour – both verbal and physical. The school retains the prerogative to deny school transportation to students who disrupt the congenial atmosphere in the bus. Parental responsibility in ensuring their wards act in accordance within expected standards of decorum will be appreciated.
Students can avail of the School Transport subject to the availability of seats, The routes of the school buses are planned by the school and the parents should consult the School Transport In charge for necessary details.
